Tree books

When we first started this book we would put ink on a gelli plate and then we would put a plant on it, roll it out with a piece of paper and then it would make an awesome looking print. Eventually we would get a piece of cardboard kind of in the shape of a tree and it would have word designs on it which we used screen printing to do it and we used a stencil and put ink over it on the cardboard. We would cut the cardboard to a tree shape and glue on other colorful pieces to decorate it. We made writing pieces and cut them and would glue them to the tree book and then that was the final product. The person that guided us through the process was Ms. Gignoux and this is her website https://gignouxart.com/. Overall this was a fun project and I really enjoyed learning different was of art.

Here are both writings I used in this book

Branches Writing

1. I want to be on a school team.
I want to be on a school team because I can
get better at the sport and I can meet new
people.
2. I want to go on the scariest roller coasters
of all time.
I want to do this because I love roller
coasters and saying that I did the scariest
roller coasters makes me feel
accomplished.
3. I want to meet a famous basketball player.
I want to do this because I love watching them and getting to see them and meet them is always super cool.
4. I want to build my own PC. I love PC’s and all about how they work and I love all you can do with them. When I save up enough money I’ll get the parts and assemble one.
5. I want to get into a good college so I can get a good education and so I can have more job options when I grow up.
6. I want to travel all over the world. If I do that then I can eat all types of foods and so I can better understand the values and practices of other cultures.
7. When I grow up I want to have the money to help my parents with whatever they need because of what they have gone through to raise me. I would like to be able to support them in any way.

My hopes for the World:
1. One thing I want for the world is that we can fix climate change. I’d like to do this because
the earth we are living in is dying and it affects us and makes it harder to live.
2. To stop world hunger. Many people are starving trying to find food and they shouldn’t since
we are all human we need to understand this and they can die without enough water.
3. To create an energy form that has no cons. Almost every power plan or way of energy
causes something bad so I’d like to make something that has no downsides and make sure it
doesn’t affect the world negatively.
4. To stop racism. I’d like to stop this because we are all humans and it shouldn’t matter
whether it’s cold or race and it has been happening for so long it needs to come to an end.
5. Find a way to get rid of trash. The amount of trash will always grow and we just put it in
landfills to rot but I want a way to get rid of trash and it doesn’t affect the world.

Solute to my Roots Writing

My mom is one of the most important people in my life because she always makes me laugh and always supports my decisions. My mom is always understanding of me when I need to tell her something and always makes me feel better about it whether it’s the fact I was not ready to do an activity, or if I feel badly about myself. She’s always there to lift up my spirits. She’s taught me so many things in life like manners or to be too hard on myself. These are just some of the reasons my mom is very important to me.
My dad is one of my biggest role models because he is smart, athletic and understanding of anything. He always pushes me to do my best and whether the result was not what I wanted, as long as I did my best he understands. He encourages me to try new activities and get the most out of life that I can. He tries to teach me that objects and money aren’t everything and experiences are worth a million times more. He helps me through life, making me ready for the world when I leave so I’m not lost when I go out to the real world. That is part of why my dad is very important to me.
My grandma is one of the most caring people I know. She always makes my favorite foods like sweet rice, lamb, and beef dishes. If I’m not feeling good she will always offer to take care of me. She teaches me all about my Muslim religion and my family. If she wasn’t here I wouldn’t know much about any of this. When there is a party you know you’re going to get a big present when your grandma is over because my grandma is super caring.
My three best friends are super important to me because they always make me laugh when I’m down. If I’m bored they are there ready to hang out or play. When there’s group partners we pick each other. We always joke around and have fun. Although we might fight sometimes we always stay friends.
